At Edison Motors, every dollar raised from our private investment round is strategically allocated to ensure long-term success, production scalability, and continued innovation in hybrid-electric vocational trucks. Our investment approach is focused on acquiring infrastructure, expanding production, building prototypes, and securing certifications to bring our trucks to market efficiently and effectively.
Establishing Our Headquarters in Golden, BC
One of our top priorities is securing a permanent facility. We have selected Golden, British Columbia as our future headquarters. This location will provide the necessary space for a manufacturing facility, a dedicated test track, and future expansion. We also plan to construct on-site accommodations to support a growing workforce, making it easier for skilled professionals from cities like Calgary to work on rotation.
This investment ensures that Edison Motors transitions from its current small-scale operation into a fully equipped facility capable of meeting the increasing demand for our trucks.
Scaling Prototype Development
A significant portion of the raised funds will go toward building 10 prototype vehicles in 2025—five hybrid-electric pickup trucks and five heavy-duty semi-trucks. These prototypes will undergo extensive real-world testing with our early customers, helping us refine the designs before full-scale production.
Of these prototypes:
• Two will be dedicated to Edison Motors for certification and internal testing.
• The remaining eight will be deployed in the field by customers to collect valuable performance data and feedback.
These prototypes are crucial for ensuring our hybrid-electric technology is refined and optimized before mass production begins.
Certification & Compliance
Meeting regulatory standards is essential for bringing Edison Motors trucks to market. A portion of the proceeds will fund compliance testing and certification under CMVSS (Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) and FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) for the United States.
• CMVSS certification will allow us to issue VINs (Vehicle Identification Numbers) for Canadian customers and sell our trucks nationwide.
• Once CMVSS is secured, we will move on to FMVSS certification, allowing us to enter the U.S. market.
Our dedicated test track in Golden, BC will play a critical role in this certification process, providing a controlled environment for brake testing, acceleration testing, ABS compliance, and other performance evaluations.
Supporting the Edison Pickup Conversion Kit
The Edison Pickup Kit has received overwhelming interest from customers across North America. To ensure high-quality product development, investment proceeds will also support prototype testing, engineering advancements, and production scaling for these conversion kits.
A portion of the funds will also go toward expanding operations for Rich, our Ontario-based development partner, who has been instrumental in refining the pickup conversion process. This includes potentially leasing or purchasing a dedicated workshop in Ontario to facilitate production.
A Commitment to Responsible Growth
Edison Motors remains committed to financial responsibility and sustainable growth. We operate with a lean, frugal mindset, ensuring that every dollar is used efficiently to advance production, enhance technology, and bring high-quality hybrid-electric trucks to market.
