Edison Motors is pleased to announce the acquisition of a 300-acre property in Golden, British Columbia, marking a significant milestone in our expansion. As of January 24, 2025, this site has been secured, and we plan to begin operations in spring 2025. This facility will serve as the foundation for manufacturing, research and development, and product testing, supporting the continued advancement of our hybrid-electric trucking technology.
Strategic Location for Growth
The Golden property was originally established in the late 1800s as the divisional headquarters for CP Rail, later operating as a sawmill, log yard, and industrial site. Its rail access, industrial zoning, and existing infrastructure make it an ideal location for Edison Motors to scale its operations.
Key attributes of the site include:
• Manufacturing and Assembly Facilities – A dedicated production facility will be established to support the production of hybrid-electric vocational trucks and retrofit conversion kits.
• Testing and Validation Grounds – The property will feature a two-kilometer test track, allowing for controlled testing of vehicle performance, gradeability, and durability.
• Rail and Logistics Capabilities – With direct access to the CP Rail mainline, Edison Motors will be able to efficiently receive raw materials and distribute finished products across North America.
• Expansion Potential – The site provides room for future growth, allowing for phased expansion as production increases.
Next Steps
With the property secured, the next phase involves site preparation and infrastructure development. The initial focus will be on constructing the first production facility and establishing operational logistics. Testing operations will commence following the completion of the test track and supporting infrastructure.
Edison Motors remains committed to pioneering advancements in hybrid-electric trucking. This new facility in Golden, BC, represents a critical step forward in delivering innovative, sustainable transportation solutions while positioning the company for long-term growth. Further updates on facility development and production timelines will be provided in the coming months.
